Bounty Lakes offers the prospect of plenty of action from excellently conditioned, hard fighting Carp, Grass Carp and Catfish. In addition  we also have specimen Roach, Bream, Perch, Zander and a few Pike.

The Carp

Both lakes are well stocked with Mirror and Common Carp. Typically catch rates are good and you’ll get plenty of action from stock fish from  20lbs to high 30’s with a chance of a 40+ carp too.

Bounty 1 - This lake has a good original stock of carp of all sizes with plenty of 20’s and 30’s and a chance of a 40+ carp. The best Carp to date are (common) 39lbs and (mirror) 42lbs. We have some stunning fully scaled Mirrors to high 30’s. In 2008 we added 80 fish from 20 to 40lbs including a good number of 30’s and also added a further 50 fish in 2011 from 20 to 35lbs.

Bounty 2 & 3 - This lake has a good head of carp of all sizes including plenty of 20’s and 30’s. The best Carp to date are (common) 41lbs, (mirror) 42lbs and (grass) 45lbs plus we have some stunning scaly Mirrors to 30+.

The Grassies - We have a good head of Grass Carp in Bounty 2/3 with the average weight now being in excess of 30lbs and the biggest caught to date being a whopping 45 lbs. These are stunning fish and they go ballistic!, especially near the net so please be careful and ask for advice if you have never caught a Grassie.

The Catfish

Both lakes offer excellent Catfishing . Bounty 2 has a particularly good Catfish reputation amongst the locals

and was featured in Catfish Pro’s - Passport to Catfishing, French Lakes DVD. If you want to catch a Catfish or fish for Carp with a chance of a Mega Cat then Bounty is the place!  A typical week will see Catfish on the bank with a good head of fish in the 40 to 60lbs class in both lakes.

Bounty 2/3 boasts the bigger Cats with a good stock of fish to 70lbs and a good chance of much  bigger Cats.

The venue record from Bounty 2 is a whopping 106 lbs! but a bigger Cat (La Bête - the Beast) is believed to lurk.

For 3 seasons many anglers have a reported an unstoppable fish which has snapped rods and smashed reels

but ....for the moment, “la Bête” must remain a myth until she is banked!

Bounty 1 also has a good head of Cats, the average weight is similar to Bounty 2. The top weight to date is

84lbs but is rising rapidly, a 100lb Cat is on the cards very soon. We allow live-baiting on both lakes although

the Cats will take all types of Carp bait.
